UK Payday Loan Consumer Survey Results
LeadsMarket.com conducted a Consumer Survey in the UK wherein the participants were asked whether they had applied for a payday loan in the past.
The survey was conducted using Google Consumer Surveys in between the period of 12 to 14 September, 2013 and yielded 6,730 responses.The data that was collected through this survey showed that 7.5% of people have applied for a payday loan in the past.
Population of United Kingdom in 2013 was 64.1 million people. 7.5% of 64.1 million is 4,807,500 people.
The survey showed that 11.1% people belonging to the age group of 25-34 answered the question in affirmation and had applied for a payday loan in the past while more than 98% of people over the age of 65 did not apply for a payday loan.This clearly indicates that people in their mid-20s and 30s in the UK are more likely to apply for a payday loan than those that are over the age of 65.
The survey also revealed that around 12.4% of Irish people responding to the question had applied for a payday loan in the past. These results show that the Irish people are more interested in payday loans than people in the UK.
The survey also showed that 15.4% of people living in East Midlands had applied for a payday loan in the past.This indicates that people of the East Midlands region in the England have a greater need for payday loans than the people living in the rest of the country.
